Beginners tips to improve your Google search engine rankings
Search engine rankings can make or break even the best of websites. If you don’t rank well, odds are you will have a stagnate website or blog and will be forced to spend a lot in advertising to increase your traffic. Not to mention the time spent visiting social bookmarking sites, hoping your particular post will go popular.
Here’s a short list of tips to help improve your sites search engine rankings.
- Be sure to have Google Sitemap Generator. This plugin generates a xml-sitemap compliant sitemap of your Wordpress blog. The format is supported by Ask.com, Google, YAHOO and MSN Search. Whenever you publish a post, this will notify (at your discretion) these search engine providers in real time.
- Hopefully, you have a Google Webmaster Tools account. If you don’t, sign up for one. It will provide you with detailed reports about your pages’ visibility on Google. Don’t forget to submit your sitemap!
- Download and install All In One SEO Pack. This powerful plugin will streamline your posts/pages for search engine optimization.
- Visit the Google Webmaster Forums. Often. Plenty of advice can be found here on any range of subjects.
- Set up link exchanges with other sites that are like yours. The number of backlinks your site has is a strong indication of its popularity or importance.
